Can tomatoes be planted where potatoes used to be?

I would not recommend it. They can have bugs that eat them both like the Colorado Potato Beetle If you have a problem with one you could loose them all. They also have different fertilization needs. So you could not effective take care of both if they were planted amongst each other. Just make a new row..
