How do months happen?

Months are divisions of the year that are based on the lunar cycle and calendar systems. Most months in the Gregorian calendar, which is widely used today, have either 30 or 31 days, with February having 28 or 29 days in leap years. The concept of months originated from the observation of the moon's phases, with each month roughly corresponding to the time it takes for the moon to complete a full cycle.
