Why was the SkylonTower built?

The Skylon Tower was built as a tourist attraction in Niagara falls, Ontario, Canada. It offers visitors panoramic views of the falls and the surrounding area from its observation deck. Additionally, it houses a revolving dining room and various entertainment facilities.
