Is it legal in the UK to practise gay- straight conversion therapy on under-18s?

It is in a state of debate at the moment. In 2013, several LGBT organizations and a number of members of Parliament called on the government to ban the so-called "therapy".

Since it doesn't work anyway, it shouldn't even be attempted, legal or not.
