Why does the author of the article Stephens Ambrose a vampire?

Stephens Ambrose was an American author who wrote many books, in later years, it was found out that he was a plagiarist who was pardoned. Stephens Ambrose continued plagiarism and many called him a vampire and considered his works similar to bloodletting.
