Why do you have trickle or treat on Halloween?

Well people in the traditional countries has its own way of clebrating. One way is trick or treat. The story goes that a man in a forest on the 31st of october got a choice of trick or treat. He chose trick and they killed him. Not to be read by children (LOL).
