Does the color of a roof affect the temperature inside the house?

Yes. Up to 20-40 degrees in the top part of your house. If its cold climate get dark to help melt snow on roof and white for hot climate to deflect the sun. or a grey type for in the middle. Then again alot of houses dont look good with white looking shingles. Get what looks good and try to go light or dark the most you can to save on them bills...
