What was Samuel Champlains result of exploration?

Samuel de Champlain's exploration resulted in the founding of Quebec City in 1608, establishing the first permanent French settlement in North America. He also mapped much of the northeastern region of North America, including the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.
