Before becoming president, Warren G. Harding held several public offices, including serving as a member of the Ohio State Senate from 1904 to 1909. He was then elected as the Lieutenant Governor of Ohio from 1909 to 1911. Following that, he became a U.S. Senator from Ohio, serving from 1915 until he was elected president in 1920.
