How did slaves feel?

Slaves felt Uncared, sad, Tired, scared, poorly, broken-hearted, imagine if you were a slave? wouldn't you be feeling the same way? if you was beaten till death, had to be given a new name each time you were sold, you would feel not cared for because you would be getting used.
