Why did you hear three knocks on your door last night?

The three knocks on my door last night might have been from a neighbor or a friend stopping by unexpectedly. It could also have been a delivery person dropping off a package. Alternatively, it might have been just the wind or a tree branch tapping against the door. Regardless, I didn’t open the door to find out who it was.
