Who all is in the Lagomorph family?

They differentiate from rodents by two front enameled incisors that grow throughout their life and different dentition in the molars from rodents.

They have a looped cecum like a horse. They cannot vomit, again like a horse, which causes the deadly condition known as colic. They do not tolerate surgery or the anesthesia well, yet should be castrated or spayed after six months. Lifespan of a well cared for bunny- 12 to 14 years.

It is mostly caused by moldy or bad food, change of climatic barometric conditions and bloating.

They cannot have any antibiotic and their bones are hollow facilitating the clean fast movement that saves them from predators. You must use a vet specializing in exotic animals.

They cannot eat certain foods. Iceberg lettuce, chocolate, coffee and a larger list.

They shed about six times a year with a soft undercoat suitable for spinning.

They can have 250 babies a year.

Several breeds are rare, such as the Black Silver Fox, and have their own breed clubs.

If you cover your electrical cords and put away paper they are neat clean pody trained house pets.
