How is Jacques cartier similar to Samuel de Champlain?

Both men were French explorers- among the first Europeans to explore North America. Cartier and Champlain both made contact with the Mi'Kmaq natives, visited the site of modern Quebec City, and travelled up the St. Lawrence River.
