What is ultitarianism?

the system was devised by two 18th century british thinkers, bentham and mill. they were both actively involved in improving prisons and the law in britain. the ultinarian slogan is 'the greatest good for the greatest number'. all our actions and rules are to be decided upon finding out which of them produces the greatest amount of good for the greatest amunt of people. hope this helpz
