Why were the homo sapiens (doubly wise) considered to be more cultural than earlier groups of hominids?

Homo sapiens were considered to be intellegent because archaeologists have seen they had large heads and contained large brains.

They advanced the developement of tools with new technology. They developed more complex tools for specific puposes. They also crafted bone needles for sewing animal skins into clothing. They designed weapons such as stone points attached to wood spears as well as spear throwers.
