Why is it that every time I click the create a channel button on YouTube there's always a blank white screen and nothing ever comes up?

That is a glitch within YouTube. An alternative to create a YouTube account, is to create a gmail account. This will automatically create you a YouTube account, then just login to YouTube. If you are not a regular gmail user and do not wish to use gmail for your email, simply go to settings, and change your email adress. I hope this helped :D
