Where water is stored on Earth?

Water on Earth is stored primarily in the oceans, which account for about 97% of the planet's water. The remaining water is stored in glaciers, ice caps, rivers, lakes, groundwater, and in the atmosphere as water vapor. Only a small percentage of Earth's total water is found in freshwater sources accessible for human use.
