It's most likely that this is not harmful and is normal as ovulation takes place approximately 2 weeks after Day 1 of your period but it depends on age and other factors such as personal health history, it may also be a sign of mild endometriOSis. It is normal to experience changes in the menstrual pattern at various stages throughout life. Ideally you should ask your doctor and I strongly suggest that you do so as he or she will have access to your history, perhaps even the next time you are visiting for something else, but please don't worry. If it is a continuing feature (has gone on for several cycles) or the spotting is heavy or painful, please do visit your doctor or gynaecologist and remember that it may just be a passing and natural occurence with no further implications, or something that can be treated as simply as taking a particular oil/capsule to help regulate a natural imbalance in hormones.
