How did people manage to get a hold of alcohol in the 1920s?

During the 1920s, the United States experienced Prohibition, which banned the production, sale, and transportation of alcohol. Despite this, people found ways to obtain alcohol through illegal means, such as speakeasies—secret bars that served drinks.
