Can laminate be removed from cabinets?

A method I have used to remove laminate from a timber panel that wrked quite well was using a heat gun and applying a gentle pull on one edge as the adhesive softens. For a small area a household iron may also work. Start with moderate heat and gradually increase the heat until movement occurs. Use a solvent to remove traces of adhesive if required.
