What are synecdoche and examples of it?

Synecdoche is some part of an object that stands for the whole part.

Examples:

All hands on deck (hands standing for body)

1,000 head of cattle (head standing for body)

Check out my new wheels. (wheels standing for car)

We await Word from the crown. (crown standing for king or queen)
