Oil to petrol mix ratio will vary according to chainsaw make and model. Generally if the chainsaw is pre 2000 it will probably be 25:1 (i.e. 25 parts petrol to 1 part oil) Later model chainsaws can be anything from 25:1, 35:1, 40:1 or 50:1.
To be safe, you can use 25:1 in all leaner oiled chainsaws but be aware that they will smoke. Always use a high quality 2 stroke engine oil such as super outboard oil or similar. Better to be slightly oily than not.
