Do apples have stems

I am a scientist and it has been proven through numerous types of experiments in the state of Arizona, that it is actually a fruit. As a stem is narrow and attaches the fruit to its tree. Many people disagree as shown on other websites information. But over the past 6 months we have been testing, and recently on the 27th March 2011 it was confirmed to be a fruit not a stem. Many people are in disbelief and disagreement but it is the logical, scientifical classification of an Apple.
