When was the Motorola Corporation founded?

Paul V. Galvin founded the company in 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. Originally the Galvin Manufacturing Corp., the company's name was changed to Motorola, Inc. in 1947, the same year it began research into solid-state electronics.
