In keeping with the "person first" descriptions of people with disabilities, the correct description should be a person "unable to sit out of bed". "Person" first, then a physical description.

An example: "Mary's daughter has autism", not "Mary's daughter is autistic", or worse, "Mary's daughter suffers from autism".
