Were the temptations of Jesus real?

It's impossible to tell, since the only account of any temptation involving Jesus is very short. I forget which it is, but he gets mad because someone is desecrating a temple. Besides this, there is no other refrence. Even if he did feel temptaion, it only mattered if he succumbed to it. If he did, his father may have helped him through it.
