Who discovered that tobacco grown in Virginia could be sold as a cash crop in Europe?

The man who married Pocahontas, John Rolfe. He found a "sweet" strain of tobacco, and found that Europeans loved it. The rest is history. Jamestown prospered, and English colonization continued.
