How old is the oldest man to ever live?

The oldest man of verified age as of January 2018 was Masazo Nonaka of Japan (born July 25, 1905).

He succeeded Francisco Núñez Olivera of Spain (1904-2018) and Yisrael Kristal of Israel, who both died at the age of 113 years old.

There are more than a dozen living Japanese women who are older than Nonaka, by official documentation. The oldest is Chiyo Miyako of Japan (born May 2, 1901 - 116 years old).
