What do engels and marx mean when they say that the bourgeoisie has played a most revolutionary part in history?

There are quite a few reasons for this. The major reason is that the capitalists have created the material conditions required to create a society in which there is no more class and no more class exploitation, no more war, poverty, racism, etc., that is created the material conditions for socialism.
