Windows Live Sync was a file synchronization service by Microsoft that allowed users to keep files in sync across multiple computers and devices. It enabled users to access their files from anywhere by maintaining a consistent version across various locations. The service was integrated with Windows Live services and later evolved into what is now known as SkyDrive, and eventually OneDrive, which offers cloud storage and file sharing capabilities. Windows Live Sync was discontinued in 2011.
