Why is there a yellow moon in the night sky?

Sweetheart, the moon doesn't actually turn yellow just for funsies. It gets a golden hue because of the Earth's atmosphere scattering the shorter blue wavelengths of light, leaving the longer red and yellow wavelengths to make the moon appear yellow. So, there you have it - science at work.
