Second world countries are countries that were allies of the Soviet Union (and obviously the Soviet Union itself) during the Cold War. Second world countries include the Soviet Union*, North Korea, Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia*, Albania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia*, Poland, and East Germany*.

*= countries that have since dissolved into even smaller countries or joined with Another Country.

Soviet Union = Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, the Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

Yugoslavia = Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, and Macedonia.

Czechoslovakia = the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

East Germany united with West Germany to reform Germany.
