Only on the limited commercial application is this statement true; however with the advent of the new FireStopper® FFC (Fire Fighting Catalyst) Technology and Extinguisher Products the residential consumer has a new weapon against the ever present danger of a class K fire. The new FireStopper® FFC Residential Extinguisher Line now provide the residential consumer with a new generation of liquid, B, C, & K-Rated, compact and highly efficient all class (A-B-C-D-K) effective extinguishers that are a true fit for the residential user.

The NFPA and the U.S. Fire Administration have determined that over 90% of all the residential fires in the United States start in the kitchen and till now the only available K rated extinguishers came in cumbersome sizes such as 6-Liter and 2.5-gallon; to large for the residential user and the only other alternative was to use a Dry Chemical Powder extinguishers that clearly are not suited for use on K-type kitchen fires. These type of extinguishers are hazardous to the environment, irritant to eyes and skin, highly corrosive, and impossible to clean after discharge. They are offered in limited ratings such as BC or ABC fires and clearly not for use on kitchen K-Rated fires.
