Are countries and continents the same thing?

No. a continent refers to a land mass and there are 6 continents

• Asia, America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Antarctica. (some

people believe that there are 7 with North America and south America being counted separately) A country is a politically organised region. For the most part continents contain many different countries with the exception of course of Australia which is both a country and a continent.
