Why do kids at age 11 have boyfriends and girlfriends?

It could be something to do with peer pressure, all her friends might be getting boyfriends and she might feel a bit left out and think that if she got a boyfriend she would 'fit in' and be able to join in with whatever her friends are doing. Another related reason is that she might just need to grow up, all girls have to grow up someday and she might feel getting a boyfriend will help her grow up. Hope this helps :)
