What is the only country in South America whose name ends with the letter U?

Peru is traditionally described in terms of three broad longitudinal regions: the arid Costa on the west; the rugged Sierra (Andes) in the middle. The tropical Amazon Basin is on the east. The country almost touches the Equator at its' southern end.
