What were Jarvis Lorry's characteristics?

Jarvis Lorry is a stodgy banker, but throughout the book becomes softer, and more considerate when considering his strong relationship with the Manettes. While at the beginning of the novel he is "a man of business," he comes to realize that his relationships with his friends should be his main priority rather than his occuaption. He is a dedicated, loyal, and trustworthy friend of the Manette's.
