Did any cruise ship ever sank?

The term, "cruise ship" as most people know it to be today, has only been around since the 1960's. Before and since then, there have been many incidents where passenger ships have sunk whether it was accidental or intentional. The most famous shipwreck is probably the RMS Titanic which sank in April of 1912 after hitting an iceberg. Over 1,500 people died making it one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters in history.
