How did Islam become a religion?

Islam is an Arabic Word that means Submission to God, the one and only one God. All God creations were created on basis of submission to Allah (God in English and same God worshiped in Judaism and Christianity); including the universe and what is in the skies, the earth, what is in between, and what is under the earth. All people since start of mankind were called by god prophets for Islam (submission to God). Islam was called Judaism per Torah revelation to Moses, Christianity per The Bible revelation to Jesus, and the very name Islam per Quran revelation to Muhammad.

Accordingly, Islam is as old as the earth creation date itself. However, Islam religion per Quran revelation by God (Allah) to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Gabriel (Jibril) began by the date of revelation of the first Quran verses that was in year 610 AD. Quran revelation by God to prophet Muhammad continued until year 632 Ad (year of prophet Muhammad death).

Additional view:A religion is a set of practices and devotions in the service of God. As such, even if Islam existed for all time since start of universe creation, the Islamic religion (with current ritual worships) was brought to light by prophet Muhammad in year 610 AD.
