Get up early. Early in the sense there won't be anyone to disturb you for at least an hour. Finish the basic activities like brush, toilet and if possible take a bath.

Then sit on the floor preferably on a blanket (if you cant sit on a floor, sit on a chair without any cushion) and sit comfortably, relaxed, you back should be straight.

Slowly count 1 to 100 then 100 to 1. Then do nothing just sit and try to feel your senses. Then slowly start monitoring your breath. Do it for 15 minutes.

or

Recite some mantra for 15 minutes.

The lie on the floor (try to avoid sleeping) for 10 minutes.

Increase the duration as days proceed.

Meditation does mean to practice the above said rather its all about mind set and conmmitment.
