What is orchipexy?

Orchidopexy is a surgical procedure used to correct cryptorchidism, a condition where one or both testicles fail to descend into the scrotum. During the procedure, the surgeon relocates the undescended testicle into the scrotum and secures it in place to prevent future retraction. This treatment is typically performed in infancy or early childhood to reduce the risk of complications such as infertility or testicular cancer later in life.
