The Atkins diet is a multiple-phased diet, and the first phase, induction, is the strictest. You are encouraged to stick as closely to the rules of this diet as you can to jumpstart the weightloss process, rid your body of cravings, and lose the most weight you can.

If you want to "cheat", go ahead, but like any diet, you may not experience the maximum weight-loss that you could of experience.

If you mean "cheating" to mean having a "treat", then yes. Atkins dieters have various ways of experiencing "treats" that do seem like "cheats" when you are on a low-carb diet. A mixture of whipping cream, cocoa powder, low-carb syrups can create a delicious dessert.
