Why as you turn wheels to right or left do you here a clunkiti clunk sound?

You got a front driveshaft about ready to break apart. The boot that holds all the grease in there has probably torn open, letting all the grease out and letting sand in. This wears down the joint too quick and soon that joint is going to break, and then you cannot go anywhere!
