Why is the risk of being burgled lowest in rural areas?

Due to lack of shops and other businesses, people tend to work at home or on farms. Burglars know that they will be caught. Also if your referring to the out skirts of London. It's generally because they have better security. But, most of all, it's because there are fewer city people there. There are no rural cities and it's a hassle for city dwellers to travel there. Community values are more pronounced in rural areas because everybody knows everybody. Anonymity in the city gives more leeway for antisocial behavior.
