Ukuagi

CORRECTION: This Word is correctly spelled ukuaji; g in Swahili never sounds like English j. A Swahili-speaker would understand the Word but would not use it with the meaning "growth." The -ji affix refers to someone who repeatedly does something: mliaji (a crier or crybaby), mlalaji (one who sleeps a lot), mchekaji (one who is always laughing), mpigaji (one who constantly hits, a fighter). If the m is changed to u, the Word becomes an abstract noun: uliaji(constant crying), ulalaji (narcolepsy), etc.

Ukuzi (which, like mkuaji, is formed from the verb kukua, to grow, of humans and animals) would mean growth, as would maongezeko and several other Words, depending on the growth of what (economic growth, physical growth, etc.).
