Its not too complicated.

1. Look on under side of bumper, you will see four 7mm bolts holding two light assemblies in place.

2. Loosen these four bolts but don't remove them. A 1/4 or 1/2 inch ratchet with a 7mm socket will expedite the process.

3. Slide the assemblies toward body of the car (about 1 inch) so they are loose. The bolts ride in a slot.

4. Slide a loose light assembly toward the other light and gently pull out so the assembly is hanging free of the bumper with about 4 inches of wire. You'll see the opening in the bumper housing is wider in the space between the lights. I needed to gently push up on bumper housing plastic to get the assembly out, but then it came out quite readily. Repeat this step so both light assemblies are hanging loose.

5. Twist the black bulb holder one quarter turn on the back of the assembly and pull, this separates the weather cover from the bulb.

6. Push the bulb down against the spring and then pull back out, it should separate relatively easily.

Note: Total time was about 5 minutes to replace two bulbs. The specs call for #194 bulbs. Check your local auto supply; I paid $1.56 for two bulbs. With the bolts in place but loose they will slide right in, following these directions in reverse. These directions work on all Impalas made from 2000 through 2005.
