You can get a feeling of what its worth buy seaching on eBay, search on closed listings also, it may go up in value during Christmas shopping as it may be on someones Christmas want list.

AnswerIf you check the dimes in your pocket change you'll see that they all carry a pair of tiny letters under FDR's image. They're actually "JS" rather than "j5" and are the monogram of John Sinnock, who designed both sides of the coin. In any case 1959 isn't a rare year for Roosevelt dimes - there's more information in the Related Question.

Up to 1964 dimes had mint marks on the back instead of the front, and up to 1979 some didn't have mint marks at all so that's another source of confusion.
