In current-day Austria, the Head of State is held by the office of Federal President (Bundespräsident), which is mostly a ceremonial position.
The effective Head of Government is the Federal Chancellor (Bundeskanzler), a position which is nominally appointed (by the President), but which effectively is held by the leader of the majority party in the lower chamber of parliament (the National Council).
