I don't think they should ever have to stop. I'm an adult and still enjoy a good Easter Egg hunt. It's fun!

I disagree because children who are older find the eggs easier and thus usually ruin the game for the younger ones. Now if you want older children to participate (8 and up), in combo with younger children, then perhaps a separate area for the older ones and a separate hunting area for the little ones. Little ones take a long time to find them. I've seen uneven age groups at egg hunts and the big kids grab all the eggs and even snatch them two steps ahead of the little ones. That is quite unfair and rude (but kids only think of the candy so they don't care).

I work with many children and I personally think once they get to 8 years old, they should do something else on Easter like a treasure hunt. That way they can get a piece or two of candy (or a toy) at the end of the hunt and it is much more geared to their age level.
