How does the mining hat in club penguin work?

If you have a mining hat on CP, then you have the power to jackhammer. Put on your hat(And your hat only unless you have a vest too which only works with a yellow or orange hat) and start to dance. You will start jack hammering. That's how the mining helmet works!
